We are all
different but all the same. This is the first thought coming to my mind when I
think about United Diversity. It has all changed during last decades with development of technology
and innovation. It allows us to travel everywhere both virtually and in reality,
to meet new cultures, values and opportunities. You can be inspired by
everything every day. No limits, no boundaries. I am recently inspired by Japan so I was really excited and fulfielld to work on Unicult. Simplicity, balance but on the other hand asymmetric and deconstruction. Imperfection in perfection. Fabrics with texture, experiments with shapes.
The inspiration of shape and colors
of my design:
In recent
years, the Japanese have become more accustomed to wearing western clothing.
However, they have a rich history of their own unique cultural fashion with
kimono as a main element.
In my
design I was inspired by shape of kimono’s sleeves and back part of belt called
obi.
I am also fascinated with Rei Kawakubo and
Yohij Yamamoto asymmetric and
deconstructed designs.
Yamamoto’s
design for adidas inspired stich details in my design:
Japan is
extremely insular. There is the highest rate of suicide in the word
and the lonely deaths among old people called kodokushi . Although attitudes
are changing, suicide was for a long time accepted by the culture as a noble
act—a way of protecting honor, and defending the reputation of the family. This
information also influenced my design and are represented by red stitch and red
ball they always carry on the back...
